This Week's Vine - some fresh ideas to create, construct and carry on

Here's some ideas to help us all keep active and engaged leading up to Easter.

1. Make a cross - to remind us of Jesus death on Good Friday. Maybe use pliable wire, tin foil, or find some sticks in the garden and join them together using wool or kitchen ties. You might like to stick the cross on some cardboard or paper and add some drawings or words like - "Jesus died for our sins" or " Jesus loves me".
2 Eggciting! Children love Easter egg hunts, especially the younger children. A hunt could be organised in your garden or in your house and perhaps shared online by video ( or Facetime) with family or friends. Before doing so, explain to the children the significance of eggs in our Easter celebrations. Discuss the different creatures that come from eggs like chickens, other birds, fish, butterflies etc.. and that on Easter Day we remember that Jesus was raised from death to life and that we can have new life by following Jesus.

3. Check out The Lost Sheep Videos free each day

4. Bible Story Cartoons - This website has some great resources. Check out The Passion Week and The Easter Story

Easter Focus

EASTER FOCUS
(This song can either be sung to the tune of "Row,row, row your boat" or used as a chant. Different individuals or groups may lead each section with a sign to hold up saying "Pilate" etc... If you're really daring try each verse as a round.)
Pilate
Wash,wash,wash my  hands.
I'll send him out to die.
I'd like to  set Jesus free,
Yet crowd cry "crucify" !

Crucifixion crowd
King, king, king of the Jews,
Raised high up on a cross
Save yourself, come down from here !
  Then we'll believe you're boss !

Roman Soldier
My God, My God ! It's finished now !
  I heard this Jesus cry.
He surely was the Son of God !
I watched. I saw him die.

Soldiers at the tomb
  Roll, roll, roll the stone
  Right across the grave.
We sealed dead Jesus, wrapped inside.
  He'll no longer misbehave !
Mary
  Run, run, running fast,
I 'll go to tell good news
Jesus lives, new life he gives !
I saw Him at the tomb !
